Mischief Managed

We got another cat. Dude started getting lonely after his sister died and we were worried about him, so we got him a friend. Her name is Sophia, we got her from the humane society. She's very friendly and loves attention. She's still a little skittish, but she's adjusting fairly quickly. She came out from hiding the first night we brought her home.


On Monday night we went to see Fast Five. XD I love those movies!!! I will never get tired of seeing this:

We managed to find a DSL provider that we could also get home phone service from that wasn't hugely expensive, so I get to keep my fast-ish internet service and I don't have to go back to dial-up!!! YAY!!!!!


Doctor Who:
I have watched The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon. They were good episodes. IMO they weren't as OMG PERFECT!!!!1!!1! as a lot of people seem to be saying. And not surprisingly, they pose more questions instead of giving any answers.

I am looking forward to some more new episodes, but I can tell I'm going to get frustrated quickly. This season is going to be very reminiscent of Heroes Season 1. Each week we will be promised answers, only to be faced with new questions.

I can't believe it's already December! That means it's time for all the various Secret Santa type communities to start up. I'm participating in  fandom_stocking  again this year. My stocking is here, if you would like to stuff it. I left quite a bit of stuff of that list. If there's something you know I'll like from a fandom/pairing I didn't list, you can certainly put it in there. It doesn't have to be new fic or graphics either. Recs, pic spams, general 'Happy Holidays' wishes, everything is welcome! :)


I finally watched season 3 of Robin Hood. Sad ending was sad. :( 
I've been reading Robin/Guy fics. I highly recommend Everything is a Choice  by jadey36  . She is writing the sequel now.
I made a Robin & Guy wallpaper, (not slashy) because I just can't help myself.

I just got Doctor Who: The End of Time from Netflix. No, I really haven't seen it yet. We picked up season 5 at Costco, so I have to get caught up with 10's last episode before I can start watching it.


A couple weeks ago I did a craft project. I made a version of a mirror ball trophy for my best friend. :) The pictures didn't come out real well, but ( here it is )

We're have been rewatching Charmed, starting with season 1. We're on season 7 now. I had forgotten how much I love the show. By the time it was done airing originally I was just so glad it was over. Season 7 isn't very good and season 8 is awful. But I love it up till that point. Even though season 6 is where it starts to go down hill, I love that season because I absolutely adore Chis. Which puts me in the minority of Charmed fans, but then again that's nothing new.


I've been trying to loose some weight. So not the best time of year for that, but I really have to. There were a couple pictures taken of me on Halloween and I cried for half an hour after seeing them. So, one way or another I have to loose some weight.


I'm pretty much done with my Christmas shopping. Now it's time to put up the tree, decorate it and start wrapping the presents.

All things considered we had a pretty good Christmas. I spend all day Christmas Eve baking (about 13 hours) and made a Pumpkin Roll and 5 kinds of cookies.

I finished my part of the cooking yesterday morning by making potato cakes (more commonly known as lefse).


I got most of what I asked for for Christmas plus a few extra things. ( My Christmas Presents )


We got over a foot of snow between Wednesday and yesterday and last night it rained for awhile then turned to sleet and back over to snow. @_@ I just love Minnesota weather.

I still haven't finished, or actually even started, the gifts I plan on making. Hopefully I'll get it done before the reveal.

Tomorrow (today? 6/13) is my best friend's birthday. I'm baking a cake that I've never made before and making frosting that I've never made before. Joy! The cake is a Princeton Orange Cake and the frosting is an orange Mousseline Buttercream.





I like baking, I really do. But two recipes I've never made and having to do them at the same time? Not so much fun. It looks like the cake is cool. I have to go make the frosting now.


Later: The frosting didn't come out right. Somehow I knew it wouldn't.  I made a basic buttercream frosting instead and substituted orange juice for the milk and vanilla. I also added food coloring to make it orange colored.

I went to see Iron Man for the second time on Tuesday night. :) I really loved that movie! When I first saw it, I went in with such low expectations that it really blew me away. It was just as good the second time around. I think it has become one of my favorites out of all the comic book movies. 

In other news...

Yesterday we got new (used) car to replace ours. It's a dark green 1999 Saturn SW1.  I haven't had a chace to drive it yet. Hopefully it's not too dificult. Seriously, I have trouble with a lot of cars. I can't drive most Chevy's because the seats are too low and too far back, I can't reach the pedals or see over the steering wheel.

Or as normal as this house ever gets. I have all my furniture back in place and all my books back on their shelves. The best part is that instead of not having enough room for all my bookcases, I actually I room for an extra one! Now I have to get the books we don't want anymore posted to PaberBackSwap. Ah well, I can take my time doing that.

I am going to be dying my hair again soon. I shall try to post before and after pictures once it's done.
