Daniel does seem to die a lot. More than seems necessary, really, lol! We used to call him "Dead Again Daniel" back in the day...
I've read fics depicting the aftermath of that scene. It's been years since I read them, and I can't think of any titles right now. Most of my SG-1 reading list can be found at Yuma's site: stargatefan.com. ff.net probably has a bunch also, but finding decent things to read over there can be tricky unless you know know specific authors.
